Burton was a good buddy of mine through grammar school and into APHS.  Burton clearly marched to the beat of a different drum, but he was a solid friend and a lot of fun to be with.  Great guitar player and good athelete, when he chose to play.  He lived in the area of Wanamassa we called Hog Swamp.  If you visited him at his house you got the feeling you were in a different world.  Such a shame he died so young and we are just now finding out about it.

Rest in Peace, my friend.

wow; Burton died 30 years ago; a lot of memories going back to Wanamassa Shool but most of all it was the music; the first band I ever played in was with Burton and my brother John; both had great ears and could play anything after hearing it a few times on the radio; no "sheet music" needed; he would walk across Deal Golf Club carrying his amp and guitar and we would practice in our living room with John on piano and me on drums; played dances at the Methodist Church in Oakhurst, parties in Deal and dances at the Deal VFW and the Elks Club in Asbury; was great fun; we could not believe we got paid {nice money for 1960-62) for having so much fun; those are great memories for me and sad to know he's been gone this long;

I too grew up in Wanamassa and remember Burton Brown as a kind quiet guy. I always enjoyed it when he sang and played his guitar. So sorry to learn about his passing.
