Have you ever kissed an Angel?  Well I have!  I remember it like it was yesterday. It was December, 1962. I was co narrator of the APHS Christmas Program. During rehersal I saw an angel walking down the aisle as though she was taking people to their seats. Who was she? Was she a transfer from another school? All I can remember was that I was smitten by how beautiful she was, and that I had never seen her before. I asked some friends and they told me that her name was Carol Gunther. We started dating shortly after that, and that's when I realized what a great, warm, funny, smart, beautiful, person she was, and how fortunate I was to be in her company. We dated for a few years and then went on our seperate was. Even after I was married, I often wondered "What if"? But, of course we wouldn't have had the loving children that we each had, so even after we were both divorced, and happened to bump into each other years later, and even went out a few time, realized that the time that I was lucky enough to spend with this angel, was better left only in my memory. Now years later, when I found out that my angel went back to heaven, I at least have that wonderful memory of her from so many years before. She was the kindest, most gentle person that I have ever had the good fortune to meet. She looked at everything through rose colored glasses. I know that my life was made better in those few years that we dated. Just knowing her, as I'm sure many of you who knew her, can say the same thing. Carol was just as beautiful on the inside, as she was beautiful on the outside.

I know that this angel has been on earth after my time with her.  I'm sure that she brought light and happiness to who ever had the great fortune to spend time with her. So, if you think you have an angel in your midst, whether a male or female, cherish them for whateve time you have left with them, for it may be my angel that has come back down to make your lives better.

To her family, I know that I don't have to tell you how wonderful you mom was. Please accept my deepest sympathy to your family on her journey home. Rest in peace, Carol.  M.T.Y.L.T.T.

Steve,

Very well said.  Carol was definitely "one of a kind."
