Donald A. Rohlfs

AGE: 70 • Oakhurst

Donald A. Rohlfs, "Sarge" or "Coach", 70, a lifelong resident of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Monmouth medical Center in Long Branch. He was a police officer for the Township of Ocean from 1967 until retiring in 1995 a Sergeant. He coached the Ocean Township Police Softball team, was Patrolman of the Year in 1975 and past president of the PBA #57 from 1975-1976. Sarge loved being a police officer. He was an Air Force veteran of theVietnam War and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Oakhurst. He loved to fish with his brother, Alan and friend Bob Kirby and then stop for a beer with John Harris.

He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Doris Rohlfs. Surviving are his wife, Judith Rohlfs; daughter, Diane and her husband David Levin of London, England; son, William and his wife Amy Braddock of Calistoga, CA; brother, Alan and his wife Diana Rohlfs of Naperville, IL; brother-in-law, Ernest and his wife Eileen Farley of Oakhurst; 2 grandchildren, Emily and Cameron Braddock and his goddaughter, Roni Sue Real.
