OBITUARY 2015

Gary R. Blum, born on December 20, 1945 and passed away on May 23, 2015, at the age of 69.  Pre-deceased by his step-daughter Lisa Gaffney.  Survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary Jane (Cilento); step-son John (Tara) Gaffney, grandchildren Jack and Devin, brother Mitchell Blum (Don Lively); Aunt Jean Blum, and father-in-law Lawrence Cilento. 

The greatest joy and focus in Gary’s life were his grandchildren.  Gary was an astute businessman who built up the Party City franchise in Upstate New York.  Gary took particular pride in his grandson, Jack’s participation in the McQuaid crew team in the RowForHope, raising funds for the Hope Lodge of the American Cancer Society.  Gary also thoroughly enjoyed attending all of his grand-daughter Devin’s lacrosse games.  Gary was her biggest cheerleader.  Gary supported other various charitable organizations that helped children facing illness and developmental challenges.
