LAWRENCE I. CHANDLER

Lawrence I. Chandler, 43, of New York City, died Friday at St. Clare’s Hospital, New York City, after a brief illness.  He was a field representative for Social Security Administration for the past 14 years. Mr. Chandler was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

He was born in Oxford, N.C., and reared in Asbury Park where he lived before he moved to New York City in 1973. 

Surviving are his father, Thomas, Asbury Park; two brothers, Melvin and Lance, both of Neptune, one sister, Merita, Asbury Park, and several nieces and nephews.
