Many people who went to grade school with Roberta called her Bobbie. I became friends with her in homeroom in (I think) sophmore year and always called her Roberta because that was what they called her in school! We stayed friends throughout high school. Through her, I met a lot of people I still know from Oakhurst, and others who had gone to grade school in Ocean Township. (I went to Bond Street and Deal). I remember that her mother was German and very strict. She enjoyed coming over to my house when allowed because I was only a few blocks from the beach and we could stay out until dark, which she was not allowed to do at home. One time her mom didn't know about we double-dated at a party... I arranged the dates and she ended up liking the boy I had arranged for her. I think his name was Ronnie Potts.

Roberta was one of my best friends from kindergarten until the day she passed away in her mid-40's.  I  can still cry thinking about losing her.  I will love Roberta forever.  Rest in peace my sweet friend.  Midge
