In Memory

Rosemarie Vaccaro (Wilson)

OBITUARY
ROSEMARIE “ROE” VACCARO WILSON

Rosemarie “Roe” Vaccaro Wilson, 62, of Asbury Park, a lifelong shore resident, passed away in the morning of Friday, September 28, 2007, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. World traveler and local bon vivant, she was generous and compassionate to all having the good fortune to know her.  She was especially devoted to her loving daughter Corynne Marie Wilson of Asbury Park and Vermont, who cherished her in return. Another daughter, Rosemarie Anne Wilson, died in infancy.  Roe (just Roe) was born on March 14, 1945 to Dr. Sebastian Pasquale Vaccaro and Rosemarie Huhn Vaccaro, both now gone to their reward.  They brought her up to follow their example of helping those in need. Roe extended herself in every way to uplift and beautify the lives of her family and friends, and everybody was her friend. Attracted to excitement and camaraderie, she enjoyed the pleasure of a good horse race, Atlantic City and Georgie’s Pub, where she was celebrated for her football handicapping skills.  A graduate of Asbury Park High School and Marjorie Webster Junior College in Washington, D.C., she put her talents and abilities to use in a wide array of professions. She performed accounting duties at Henry Vaccaro Construction Corp., managed the reception and desk at the Berkeley Carteret Hotel, and comforted the sick as a medical assistant. Roe brough her unique sparkle with her when she brightened up Channel Club parties as a banquet server.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Corynne Marie Wilson; and two brothers, Henry V. Vaccaro and Sebastian P. Vaccaro Jr., here; as well as her sister Frances Anne Levitt in Maryland. Her nieces and nephews include Toni Bahary, Olivia Brangan, Allison Levitt, Henry V. Vaccaro Jr., Michael Sebastian Levitt, and Sebastian P. Vaccaro III.  She will be mourned by dear friends Kenneth Appenzeller and Paul Anderson.  She will me missed by her feline family, Max the Cat, Simon, Rosalita, and Trucker.

Thanks to Heather Ferguson's memory and a heap of detective work on my part, we found a blog that Rosemarie's daughter, Corynne posted in memory of her mother.  There are lovely photographs and sweet words of love in the blog.  I hope you all enjoy it.
