WILLIAM SANFORD WEEDEN, JR.
AGE: 65 AVON
William Sanford Weeden Jr, a lifelong resident of Avon, passed away at home, on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was 65 years old. Mr. Weeden retired as the owner of Avon Fuel Oil Company in Avon. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served two tours of duty in Vietnam earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, He was an expert marksman earning 4 O/S Bars. In the Army he was an Air traffic Controller at time controlling the Blue Angels. Mr. Weeden was the former Chief of and lifetime member of the Avon Fire Department and Captain and lifetime member of the Avon First Aid Squad. He was a member of the VFW Post #1333 in Asbury Park. Mr. Weeden was an avid fisherman who once ran across the Main Street Bridge Naked. 
He is predeceased by his parents, William S. Weeden Sr. and Jeannie Brown Weeden. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Pearce Weeden; his daughters, Tracy Weeden Rosenthal of Sayreville, Heather Ann Weeden Fucci and her husband Antonio of South River, and Helen Jean Weeden of Ocean Twp.; his brother, Robert Weeden of Tennessee; his sister, Grace Weeden Grebel and her husband Alex of Tennessee, and grandchildren, William David, and Dawn Marie Rosenthal, and Antonio Thomas Fucci. 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 6 at 10:00am at Saint Elizabeth's RC Church in Avon. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Reilly Funeral Home, 801 D Street Belmar. Internment will be at Saint Anne's Cemetery in Wall Twp. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Avon First Aid PO Box 3 Avon NJ o7717, Avon Fire Department PO Box
